Benjamin P. Adair was born abt 1757, probably in the City of Edinburgh, Scotland to Cornelius Adair (unk-1811) and Elizabeth Davis (unk-1817). He immigrated to Baltimore Co., MD, Colonial America being first mentioned in a 1773 tax list. He married Rosanah Caley abt 1774 in Baltimore Co. The family migrated first to Timber Ridge, Rockbridge Co., VA abt 1798-99; but unable to find affordable land, migrated to Paint Twp., Ross Co., OH in the late fall 1805 where he bought 150 acres. Altho first attending the Twin Creek Presbyterian Church in May 1806, he and his family were long standing members of Rocky Spring Pres. Church. After Rosanah died in Nov 1807, Ben remarried Sarah Lane Vaughn/Vaughan 24 Jun 1817. In Sep 1829, Ben died of pneumonia, and is buried with Rosanah in Rocky Spring Cemetery in presently unmarked graves.
