Georgia Maxie Blair, 90, of Crothersville, died at 9:25 p.m. on November 29, 2019 at Schneck Medical Center. She was a member of Tampico Christian Church. She retired from US Shoe & Heel Plant in Crothersville after 40 years of employment.
Georgia was born on April 26, 1929 in Manchester, KY to the late John & Mamie Depew Maxie. She married Wallace Vance Blair in 1947 and he preceded her in death in September of 2000. Survivors include her children, Peggy (Ron) Broshears, Janet (Tom) Bolton, Beverly (Larry) Babbs, Jeff (Cathy) Blair all of Tampico and Jerry Blair of Phoenix, AR; grandchildren, Angie Bolton, Melissa (Eric) Buckles, Melanie (Tony) Peters, Ryan Broshears, Andrea & Josh Sheldon & Erika Blair; great grandchildren, Jacob & Georgia Cushing, Heather & Robert Buckles, Hailley, Daniel & Max Peters, Blair & Sawyer Sheldon; a brother, Steve Maxie; 4 sisters, Ada Shirley, Edna Densford, Ruth (Bill) Reynolds, & Ethel Benson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers—Burchell & Gilbert Maxie, sisters—Sadie Sturgeon & Evelyn Maxie, and a son—Jess Allen Blair.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tampico Christian Church with Randy King officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 3rd from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial will take place at Russell Chapel Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Russell Chapel Mowing Fund.
Georgia enjoyed doing word finds, watching westerns, going to yard sales and looking at flowers anyone brought to her. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and reading her bible.
