Franklin Hardin Duty, 82, of Concord, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at his residence in Concord.

Mr. Duty was born May 8, 1941, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Hardin Duty and the late Ruby Rimer Duty.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Starnes, sisters, Gaynell Williams and Ada Linda Patrick, and brothers, John Russell Duty and Tommy Ray Duty.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 56 years, Douglas Duty, daughter Wanda Topczewski (Paul), son Tim Maxwell (Janice), sisters, Martha Duty Benton, Mary Jane Duty Morgan, Lillie Duty Kee, brothers, Tommy Duty and Claude Duty, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the West Concord Cemetery at 331 Union Cemetery Rd SW, Concord. The graveside service will be officiated by the Reverend, Christopher Maxwell and the Reverend, Curtis Parker. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region; P.O. Box 470408; Charlotte, North Carolina 28247. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Duty family.
