After World War I, Arsio became part of Kingdom of Italy and the area was known as South Tyrol. Louis Menghini immigrated to the United States on May 20, 1906 through Ellis Island, New York. Louis final destination was Lead City, South Dakota. Louis came to see his brother Giuseppe Menghini. Giuseppe and Louis were farmers who later changed their occupations to coal miners.
