"Pete," as he was called by all that knew him, was born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma did not become a state until 1907. He was the son of Sylvester Gunter and Kathryn "Katie" Tidball. He married at the age of 30, to Dovie Cole, in 1933, and they did not think they would ever have children, but in Jan of 1948, (15 yrs. later), Dorothy, their only child was born. She was the delight of their life. Pete just beamed when he spoke of her, and was constantly at her side when she was a toddler. He was a kind and very gentle man, to know him was to admire and respect him. Everyone liked Pete. Dwc
