Dixie Louise DeLaney (Pierce), 84, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, in Salina, KS.

Dixie was born February 15, 1939, in Towanda, Kansas to John and Frances Pierce (Switzer).

Dixie graduated from Salina High School in 1957, and married Warren DeLaney in 1958. Warren was killed in the Vietnam Warin 1969.

Later, Dixie and Ray Mortimer were companions in life for 35 years before Ray died in 2005.

Dixie enjoyed camping, cooking, crafting, sewing, bingo, and she loved everything purple.

She is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by sons Thomas (Nancy) DeLaney and John (Susan) DeLaney; sister Nancy (Sal) DiMatteo and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Ryan Mortuary, Salina, KS.

Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2023, at Ryan Mortuary, followed by a graveside service for the family at the Fort Riley Post Cemetery, Fort Riley, KS.

Memorials can be made to the Salina Presbyterian Manor Good Samaritan Fund.
