Charlie Lee Cannon | October 26, 1926 - June 23, 2023

Mr. Charlie Lee Cannon, age 96 of Sparta, passed away at 6:50am Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Charlie was born October 26, 1926 in White County to the late Lannie M. and Maude G. Knowles Cannon. His work career spanned from factory work to owning Cannon's Florist and Dekalb County Florist. He was known to many as "Goat Man" for his love of goat farming. Charlie also loved the art of the deal when buying and selling anything.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two sons, Brian Scott Cannon and Denny Cannon; sister Nina Mae Bennett; infant brother Tommy Cannon and brother Roy Eston Cannon.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Doris Paris Cannon

Daughter: Sarah Simmons and husband Kenneth Simmons

Son: Mark Cannon and wife Laurie Cannon

Grandchildren: Jessica, Jeffrey, Sarah, Jack, Terry, Chuck, Sherry, Kim, Crystal and Brandy.

Several nieces and nephews also survive

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, June 26, 2023 at Anderson Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until departure for the cemetery at 2:30pm Monday in the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home. Pastor Erik Cremeans will officiate.
