LINCOLN - The funeral for Joseph Wendell, 83, who died at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. Clara's hospital was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the New Holland Presbyterian church in charge of the Rev. George Struebing. Burial was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Wendell was born in Pike county, Ohio, Dec. 14, 1848.
Surviving are one brother Watt Wendell of Hazel, S.D.; a brother in law, William Sampson; two nieces, Mrs. David Bell, New Holland, and Mrs. Eva Martin, Peoria and a nephew, Philip Sampson of Springfield.
