Erler, Arthur Lawrence Born, Dec. 26, 1921, Rosemount, MN. Died, Nov 27, 2014, Saint Paul, MN. Preceded in death by spouse of 67 years Monica Cavanagh Erler, parents Herman and Marie Erler, brothers Edward and Joseph, sisters Lillian, Regina and Mary Teresa, son Laurence.

Art was an aviator and an educator. He worked for American Airlines and Roseville Public Schools. He supported Monica in raising their children and in her work for social justice. Art was an adventurer. All of creation was a gift to be explored with endless fascination. Astronomy, theater, the weather, the stories of family, the stories of friends and the stories of strangers. The stories held within books and the stories held within children. He was a member of the North Star Ski Club. He hiked the Appalachian Trail, the Arrowhead Trail, and the Superior Hiking Trail. He rode his bicycle thousands of miles; down the length of the Mississippi, around Lake Superior, and throughout much of the Midwest. He was a skilled knitter, winning awards and creating cherished possessions for his family and friends. Life's travails could never shade from him the miracle that we are.
