Funeral for Peter May, 88, life long resident of Mifflin township who died in McKeesport Hospital Friday afternoon was held from his residence Thompson Run Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. A solemn requiem high mass at St Agnes Roman Catholic Church at 10 o’clock was in charge of the Rev. Peter Gottshall. Burial was in St Agnes Cemetery. Before his retirement 20 years ago, Mr. Mayer had been employed by the county as a road maintenance man in Mifflin township. He was born in Bull Run (now Thompson Run), and was the husband of the late Catherine Schulte Mayer. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Rose Schweitzer and Mrs. Veronica Capp of Duquesne; Mrs. Hilda Kohler of McKeesport and Mrs. Marie Johnston at home; three sons, Anthony Schulte at home; William C. Mayer of Duquesne; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lutz of Bridgeville and Mrs. Cecelia Schorr of Duquesne. (Duquesne Times, July 10, 1942)
