Passed away on June 19, 2023 at age 75. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel J. Blumenthal; her parents, William "Bill" and Bess (Melin) Raskind; her grandparents, Fannie (Kremer) and Morris Raskind and Fanny (Pertsofsky) and Philip Melin; her biological parents, Lotta (Feitelberg) Chester and Joel Ginzberg; and her uncle, Sam Feitelberg.

Peggy was born on November 12, 1947 in Ithaca and arrived in Rochester the day after Thanksgiving. She was a lifelong resident of Brighton, graduating from Brighton High School in June 1965. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969, receiving a BA in biology, and from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1971 with an MBA in Finance.

She worked for General Foods until the early 1980s, and then ran a small business selling personalized invitations and gifts. For many years, she sang with the Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus and loved to go on cruises and travel the world. Her camel collection is legendary.
