---James Fred Allen, 103, of Kirksville, MO, formerly of the Sabbath Home community, passed away Monday night October 10, 2005 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville where he had been a resident since March 1990.
---Fred was born on March 19, 1902 in Woodard, OK, the son of the late Ben and Ola Allen. In 1926 he was married to Freda Irene Altman who preceded him in death on May 23, 1997. He was also preceded in death by two sisters.
---Fred is survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family members.
---Fred and his family moved to Missouri from Oklahoma when he was 12 years old and settled on a farm near Elmer. After his marriage he and his wife share-cropped on a farm near Elmer and then on farms east of Kirksville, mostly in the Sabbath Home community. Fred was an active member of the Sabbath Home church and was an accomplished fiddle player.
---Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday Octber 15, 2005 at the Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta, MO with Rev. Darrell Draper officiating. Burial will be in the Elmer Cemetery.
---Pallbearers will be Lawrence Newman, Noel Lee McClanahan, Larry McClanahan, Dale Watson, Travis Miller and Eugene McCarty.
