Rogersville: Sherry Lynn Mitchell, age 53, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully at her home in the morning hours of June 20th, 2023 after a courageous fight with breast cancer. Sherry was saved at New Life Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Rocky Summitt Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Aretha Brooks.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 32 years, Jeff Mitchell, and son Logan Mitchell. Other survivors are her sisters Joan (Dean) Lamb and Lisa Collins, brother-in-law Rickey (Cindy) Mitchell, sister-in-law Sherry (Tony) Crawford, nephews Jordan (Emily) Crawford and Lonnie Beck, nieces Angela (Philip) Smith, Christie (Brian) Jessie, Chelsey (Jacob) Pierce, Morgan Crawford, great nephews Ty Morgan, Daegon Lamb, Corbin Crawford, and Jackson Crawford, and great niece Karlie Jessie.
The family would like to thank Dr. Tom Thompson and Dr. Mailien Rodgers (Christine Leslie) for their great compassion and care during Sherry's cancer treatments. They would also like to acknowledge the staff at Gentiva Hospice, with special gratitude to nurse Hannah Salyer. Finally, they would like to thank caregivers Barbara Samsel, Sherry Owens, and Becky Eldridge.

Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 P.M., Friday, June 23, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Alder and Rev. Caleb Alder officiating. Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Lovin Cemetery. Those who wish to go in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 A.M.
