Allan R. Baldie, 81, of Lorain passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain. Mr. Baldie was born in Lorain December 3, 1941, the son of the late William A. and Juanita I. (nee Hill).

He graduated from Lorain High School, class of 1960. He also graduated from the Lorain Technical School and Lorain County Community College.

He was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, serving for 4 years. He worked for the Lorain Products Corp, then served 25 years in the Lorain Fire Department. He retired in 1995.

He enjoyed boating, fishing and beachcombing at Beaver Park Marina where he and his family kept their boats. He was a past member of the Beaver Park Yacht Club.

Allan is survived by his cousins, William (Bambi) Dillon, Sharon Kopronica, Beverly (Art) Johnson, James (Linda) Dillon, and Patricia Dillon, all of Lorain, Richard Thorla of Phoeniz, Arizona, and Jean Pessatanio of New Jersey. Friends may call Friday, June 23, 2023 from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, following visitation Friday, June 23, 2023 with Rev. Donald Frantz, co-interim pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery.

The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross, Northeast Ohio Chapter, 3747 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115 or Friendship Animal Protection League, 8303 Murray Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 or First Lutheran Church, 1019 W 5th St, Lorain, OH 44052.
