Mary A. Fritz, 75, Scranton, a former resident of Elizabeth Street, Dunmore, died Friday in Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the wife of Thomas Fritz, who died in 2008.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Marie Riggi Mistretta. She was a 1958 graduate of Dunmore High School and, before retirement, was employed in the local garment manufacturing industry. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Dunmore who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was an avid fan of Star Trek and loved Leonard Nimoy, who portrayed Mr. Spock. She was devoted to praying the rosary and enjoyed her Bible study group and playing cards with her neighbors and friends at Delaware Tower at Allied, and will be missed by family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas Fritz and wife, Robin, Dickson City; and Christopher Fritz and wife, Jackie, Dunmore; three grandchildren, Lauren, Meghan and Cayden Fritz; a sister, Theresa Baloga, Trucksville; and nieces and nephews.
