On Friday, June 16, 2023, our beloved Mom, Viola Florine Gordon Stevens went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 101 years young. Mom was born to the late Robert and Dora Gordon of Stafford.
She was a member of Regester Chapel United Methodist Church and past member of American Cancer Society, Ramoth Community League, and American Legion Aux. She enjoyed playing bingo and having family get-togethers.
Survivors include her two sons, whom she cherished and were very blessed to have her as their Mom, Sidney Stevens (Charlotte) and Ronnie Stevens (Phyllis); five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Claude Bryam who was like a son to her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Linwood Stevens; great-granddaughter Briana Pundsack; and two brothers, Billy and Sonny Gordon.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 22 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Register Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Chucky, Drew, AJ, Alex, Joey, and Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy and Bobby Gordon and Claude Byram.
