Mary Ellen Zike Myers Robinson was born March 21, 1879 in Tuscola, Illinois to John and Henrietta Mullikin Zike. She married Britten Robinson November 28, 1934 in Mattoon, IL. At the time of that marriage, she was a widow with four daughters. They were married for 29 years until Brit's death.

She and Brit were faithful members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Mattoon. She was well known as a woman of prayer in the church and spent many hours praying for the members as well as her family members. She was a wonderful cook and her cakes, pies and cookies were well known among her family members.

She also collected salt and pepper shakers and won many ribbons at the Coles County Fair with her collection as well as her submission of baked goods.

She was a beloved step parent to Genevieve, Hugh and Earl King who were the children of Charles and Essa King. Brit had been married to Essa at the time of her death. Mary was well loved by all that knew her.
