Sharon Lee (Edwards) Knupp, 82, of Grand Tower, IL passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023.

Born September 28, 1940, she was raised in Sand Ridge, IL. Sharon attended Gorham High School and graduated from there in 1958. June 25, 1960, was Sharon's greatest day in that she married the love of her life, Jack Knupp. They were married for 55 years and had two daughters.

Sharon was a stay-at home mom for most of that time, but in the 80s she worked at the First National Bank in Grand Tower. Sharon loved taking trips with her husband on his boat. She truly enjoyed attending any of the activities her kids were in and helping with everything from PTA to Band Boosters to Girl Scouts and everything in-between. She did everything possible to make sure they had every experience and opportunity available, and they are forever grateful. In 1999, Sharon became a beloved grandmother to her one and only grandchild, Luke. Luke was her pride and joy, and if you talked to her for even a second, you knew all about him.

Sharon truly enjoyed shopping, reading, crafting--especially crocheting, shopping, feeding, and caring for her hummingbirds, watching and rooting for the Cardinals, solving her "puzzle books" and, again, her favorite thing, shopping. She was also one heck of a cook.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, her parents, Roy and Edna Edwards, brother, Delaine Edwards, sister, Sue (Edwards) Keller, and other cherished family members. Sharon is survived by her two daughters, and her grandson.

Funeral services will be 11:30 am on Friday, June 16, 2023 at Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower with Bobby Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in Sharon's name to the Grand Tower Cemetery or the Grand Tower food pantry.
