Jessie May Hoxie was born to Reuben Sylvester Hoxie and May (Mary) Amelia Lowe on April 22, 1880. Her parents divorced shortly after her birth and her mother married Eli Butler. It is this last name that Jessie took on as her maiden name. She married Alfred K. Smith in 1894 and to them one daughter was born Hazel Smith Almas, they divorced 1897, She then Married William Saunders Fuller in 1900. To them 6 children were born Blanche, Myrtle, George, Raymond, Lillian, Roy. William died 1926. Then Jessie married William Safford on June 19,1936. He died and Jessie then married her last husband Joseph Henry Bacon on Nov. 20, 1943. He died and Jessie went on to live with her youngest son Roy Fuller and family. Where she was known for her baking including, her "bread biscuits" She often had to "shew" her grandkids out of her kitchen on her baking day. As she got older, she lived with other children and then at the Marlin Manor nursing home In Jackson Michigan where she passed on Dec. 31, 1974
