A prisoner in the city lockup where he was held following an auto accident Sunday night, Arden Bostwick, 331 Division street, 24 years old, collapsed and died suddenly about 8 o'clock this morning. Dr. G. A. Steele, Winnebago county coroner, who ordered a post-mortem examination of the body, announced Bostwick died almost instantly of a heart attack.

Chief of Police Arthur H. Gabbert said Bostwick was being held in connection with an automobile accident about 10:30 o'clock last night at Polk and Main streets involving two cars, the driver of one of which was arraigned and pleaded guilty before Municipal Judge Henry P. Hughes, this morning to a charge of drunken driving.

DRIVER FINED Charles Ferry 21 years old, 270 Division street, acknowledged he was the driver of the car owned by Bostwick, in which the latter was a passenger. Bostwick this morning complained about a pain in his stomach and reached the restroom, where he fell to the floor, police reported. Dr. I. A. Ihrke, city physician, and Dr. Steele were summoned.

According to a police report, Bostwick's car, driven east on Polk street by Ferry, collided with the parked car owned by Harry Wall, 101 East Lincoln avenue. No one was reported injured in the accident. Police said they learned this morning from Bostwick that Ferry was the driver of the car. Two others were passengers in the car, Chief of Police Gabbert reported. Ferry also pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while his operator's license was suspended and was fined $100 and costs or 90 days on each charge, the sentences to run consecutively.

BORN IN OSHKOSH Arden Bostwick was born April 21, 1915. He had lived in Oshkosh most of his life. He was employed by the Block Salvage Company for three years.
