Andrew Rounds was born in DePeyster and spent most of his life as a farmer in Macomb. He enlisted in the Army as a drummer boy and was a member of the 142nd Regiment. He moved to the village of Heuvelton where he built and ran the farmers sheds, which were the first to be erected in Heuvelton. He moved to Pullman, Washington State around 1909, with his son Adolphus. He died in Pullman and his remains were brought back to NY and buried in Pierce's Corners cemetery next to his wife and children.

In addition to the two children linked below, Andrew and Harriet also had two sons: DeElbert S. Rounds who died January 31, 1910, and Adolphus A Rounds who was still living in Pullman, WA at the time of his father's death.
