Herbert and Patricia were united in holy matrimony at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston, Texas by Curate Jack Lowrey on June 7, 1969. They later made their home in McAllen, Texas and raised three sons: Scott, Kelley, and O'Brien.

In 1982 Herbert and Patricia answered the call to return to Brenham and become owners and administrators of Brenham Rest Home. There they cared for their elderly community and raised their three sons with hundreds of adopted grandparents.

Patricia was an active member of the Pilot Club International of Brenham for four decades, where she held several leadership roles at the local and state levels. Pat had a passion for service to others, enjoying volunteering at Camp for All in Burton helping those with traumatic brain injuries.

An avid reader and researcher, she enjoyed texts about ancient history, religious history, archaeology, mystery, and science fiction. After retirement she continued to follow her passion for writing and published several of her original fiction stories. She enjoyed spending time with her family and supporting her grandchildren.
