Georgia Mae Carrick, 95, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Transitioned to her heavenly home on Friday, May 12,
2023.
She was born in Sparta, Tennessee on July 24, 1927 to the late Sam and Lula Carrick. Georgia was the second oldest child of eight brothers and sisters, born to this union. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by all of her siblings, James Edward Carrick, Douglas Lee Carrick, Robert Ray Carrick, Henry Carrick, Bethel Harrison Carrick, William Thomas Carrick, Viola M. Gribble and Mary M. Carrick.
In the 1950's, she traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, in search of better educational opportunities. Eventually, Georgia started working for Pulaski County School District Administration, where she retired. She became a member of Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist Church in 2001. She was a dedicated member of the Women's Sunday School Class, and on some occasions, would teach the class.
She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Calvin Carrick, three grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00pm Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Davis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until departure for the cemetery at 1:45pm Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home.
