Francis Marion Yarbrough was born in Edgefield Co., SC.
He served as a private in the Civil War in the Organization of the SC 2nd Artillery, Co. K - Edgefield Co. Hussars. They fought in the battles of Averysboro and Bentonville in North Carolina and were with General Joe Johnston at Greensboro, N.C. in 1865, the final battle of the war.
