Dorothy was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served valiantly in many church callings, including Stake and Ward Relief Society president, Stake and Ward Young Women President, Young Women Camp Leader, and Youth Seminary teacher.
Notably, she served for 25 years as a worker in the Washington, DC Temple in Kensington, Maryland. She was always a wonderful neighbor, friend, and faithful ministering sister, blessing the lives of the many individuals and families with whom she came in contact.
Dorothy loved sewing (she made each of her daughter's wedding dresses). She also loved feeding the birds, especially bluebirds, and caring for plants and flowers.
Her family enjoyed her gifts and talents in cooking and baking, especially her banana bread, bran muffins, and her homemade donuts on the 1st snowfall of the season. She was always active in family history work and in attending the temple, and she was a diligent student of the scriptures. She especially loved reading The Book of Mormon.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Boyd Hare; her great granddaughter, Lila Rose Rich; and her siblings, Arthur, Carolynne, Jesse, Rhoda, and David.
