Carrie L. Jackson entered eternal rest on March 21st at home in the bosom of her family at the blessed age of 103.
Although she was both a licensed beautician and a licensed practical nurse, her devotion to things of God was always paramount. A lifelong student of the Bible, she earned a diploma from Rhema Correspondence Bible School at the age of 93.
Predeceased by her husband, Bonzie C. Jackson, daughter, Ernestine Bagley and grandson, Mohammed Kenyatta, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Edward Robinson of Harrisburg, with whom she resided; 3 grandsons, Fred Brooks, Jr. (Angela) of Harrisburg, Cornelius Bagley (Bernadette) of Yeadon, and Alan Bagley of Williamstown, MA; 3 granddaughters, Joanne Odotei (Ako) of Ghana, West Africa, Carolyn Kennedy (Tobias) of Aston and Michelle McPherson (James) of Apex, NC; a "near-son," LeRoy Robinson (Beverly) of Harrisburg; 14 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives, spiritual children and friends.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Steelton, 1850 S. 19th Street, Harrisburg, where family and friends will gather to celebrate her HomeGoing on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at 12 noon. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment will be in William Howard Day Cemetery.
