William A. Tufts, 74, retired salesman, of 569 Wright Avenue, Mattydale, died Friday morning in General Hospital of Syracuse after a brief illness. Native of Albany, Mr. Tufts had been a resident of Mattydale for the last 10 years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary M. VanDyke Tufts; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Plante of Mattydale and Mrs. Thomas Audas of Sherrill; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Beach of Syracuse and Mrs. Charles Clark of Kane, Pa.; two brothers, Andrew J. Tufts of Pueblo and Charles Tufts of Batavia, and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted at Tucker Funeral Home, Liverpool, Sunday at 2:30 P.M. by the Rev. James Houser, pastor of Mattydale Methodist Church.
