DELMAR LORANE (PETE) TANNER, passed away May 2, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Whitney, Texas July 9, 1926 to Grover Winfield Tanner and Ada May Allgood Tanner, Pete spent his early years living in Hillsboro, Texas before moving to Houston at an early age living in Lindale Park. He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School, attended the University of Houston in the School of Business and Mechanical Engineering.

Pete a 1st Sargent in the US Army, received Infantry Training at Camp Walters, Texas; and Special Services Training at Fort Ord, California. He served with the Americal Division, 164th Infantry, in the Philippines during WWII.

Pete worked for Oil Center Tool Company, later becoming FMC Corp., until retirement in 1984 as Projects Manager, World Wide. After retirement, he formed D'Lorane & Associates as a consultant in the Petroleum field. Pete represented FMC, performing Wellhead Service Training in Europe, Middle East, China, South East Asia and South America until 1992. Pete was instrumental in the formation of the FMC Wellhead Field Service & Engineering Training School in Houston.

Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by all that had the honor of knowing him. He will be forever known as Pops.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and two wives, Louise Walker and Betty Outlaw and is survived by his daughter, two sons, one step-son, one grandson, and one great grandson, four granddaughters, along with many loving friends.

A graveside service will take place on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Waverly Cemetery in New Waverly, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Food Bank, AMED hospice or a hospice of your choice.
