Jay Rowland, age 96, a resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at The Gardens of St. Henry in St. Henry, Ohio.
Jay was born on May 8, 1927, in Pennville, Indiana, the son of Ernest and Mary (Cash) Rowland. He graduated from Portland High School in 1945 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Jay worked for Banker Trucking, Curry's Trucking, Teeples Trucking and retired from IRC&D Trucking all of Portland. He was a member of Teamsters Local Union and American Legion Post #211 of Portland. Jay married Alice Stonerock on July 1, 1950 and she passed away on September 15, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Rowland, his wife Alice Rowland and a sister Imogene Zdara.
