Memorial services for John W. Warren, 83, of Hobbs, NM will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at Kirby-Smith-Rogers Chapel in Lovington with Dr. Andrew Hebert officiating and assisted by Ray Smith. Services are under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seminole, TX. John was born on December 5, 1932 in Seymour, TX to Raymond and Louise Warren and passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Seminole, TX. He and Fern Craig were married on January 27, 1953 in Portales, NM and shared 63 years of life and love. John served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated John's Carpet Barn in Lovington for twenty eight years. He was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church; the American Business Club, receiving the National Award and he also coached and was president of the Lovington Little League for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Fern of Hobbs; two daughters: Paula and husband Andy Miller of Grants, NM and Becky and husband Kenneth Winn of Hobbs, NM; one son: Michael and wife Sherrie Warren of Seminole, TX; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Jeff, David, Ryan, Todd, Whitney and Jason; five great-grandchildren: Matthew, John, Korin, Caleb and Jacob and also numerous nieces and nephews.
