Helen was born and raised in Pittsfield, IL and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1949. In her earlier years she was a waitress and later went to work for the Lake City Ammunition Plant as a munitions worker making bullets until her retirement. Helen loved to dance and did so until she physically was unable. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, but loved bingo. She loved her family, and they were very dear to her.
Helen is survived by her granddaughter, Sherry Scrivener (Terry) of Leeton, MO; four great-grandchildren, Shane Reno, Madeline (Connor) Harms, Raegen Scrivener, and Noah Scrivener; one great-great-granddaughter, Lennon Harms; several nieces, nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one son in infancy; two daughters, Rhonda Farmer and Debra Gilmore; one granddaughter, Jessica Starnes; one great-granddaughter Jaymie Lister; three brothers, Cleo, Floyd, and Gene Crowder and one sister Leila Stickman.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 10:00AM at the Burbridge Cemetery near Martinsburg, IL.
