Friends here greatly sympathize with Mrs. Lee Shipman in the loss of her little son and her mother, Mrs George Ake, who died last Friday afternoon. An older brother was attempting to unload a gun while the little brother lay asleep on the porch nearby, and he accidentlly shot and killed him. His Grandmother ran to him and was examining him but the shock was too much for her; she died almost instantly from heart failure. Mrs Ake leaves a host of friends and children to mourn her death. Funeral services were held at Stacy cemetery, where they were laid to rest.
Jemima Emaline Ake was born in Missouri on Jan. 22, 1870. She was married to I.N. Collins and to this union were born five children. All were present except one who was claimed by the death angel some years ago. She obeyed the gospel when very young and has led an active Christian life up to the time of her death. In 1894 her husband was laid to rest. In 1896 she was married to George Ake, and to this union were born five children, all of whom were present except one who was claimed by death. Mr. Ake, by a previous marriage, had seven children, one of whom is dead, four being present.
Mrs. Ake also leaves two brothers, one of whom was present and five sisters. There are also thirty-two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren to mourn her departure.
