Larry L. Allen, 75, of Woodland passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Iroquois Resident Home in Watseka. He was born on February 25, 1948 in Watseka, a son of Melvin and Helen (Marsh) Allen. Larry married Rosie Hawthorne in Woodland on November 17, 1973 and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Jami (Tim) Harris of Woodland and Amy Allen (Fiancé, Tangeva Stevens) of Woodland; eight grandchildren, Brock, Isaiah, Desiray, Asia, D.J., Diara, Zoe, and Wyatt; five great-grandchildren, Jude, Gunner, Maya, Charlie Rhea, and Myleigh; one sister, Peggy (Fred) Hill of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry Allen.

Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was the founder of the Poverty Rods Car Club. Larry was a former committee member of the Woodland Fun Days. He was a member of the Machinist Union. Larry loved to watch drag racing. He also enjoyed car shows and mushroom hunting. Larry had worked for UARCO and Watseka Suzuki Honda.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Baier Funeral Home in Watseka from 11:00 a.m. to the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Ed Highfill will officiate and burial will follow in the Body Cemetery near Woodland.
