Jemima was the daughter of David and Susannah (Darling) Thompson and was born in Eastern Massachusetts. Jemima met and married Phineas Taft and had eight children, Gideon, Cynthia, Susan, David, Molly, Otis, Phineas and Crispin. After moving to West Rutland, VT, Jemima died on December 2, 1837
