Hasty Moore passed away on Dec. 23, 2007 at Wesley Acres Retirement Community in Des Moines, Iowa, where she had resided since 2003. She was born August 1, 1914 near Jefferson, Iowa to Earl Lawrence and Lu Lindsey Hasty. She grew up in Jefferson graduating from Jefferson High School in 1932. She worked several years for Dr. Edwin G. Baker DDS in Jefferson. On March 10, 1940, she married N. Howard Moore and they began farming at Scranton, Iowa where they farmed for 9 years. They then moved to a farm south of Jefferson before purchasing their farm near Bagley, Iowa in 1953. They farmed there until retiring in 1987, when they moved to Jefferson.

Inez was a charter member of the Guthrie County Planning and Zoning Committee, serving several years as chairperson. She was active in both the Bagley and Jefferson United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also active in local politics in both Greene and Guthrie County.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Kathryn (James) King of Jefferson, Mary (Eugene) Clement of Crosslake, MN and Carol (Richard) Deardorff of Cairo, NE; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great – great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard of 51 years, and 5 sisters.
