Carrie was the beloved daughter of Jesse Newberry Day and Elizabeth Ellen Forrest, founders of Dayton, Washington.

She was the dear sister of Joseph Henry, Louis Loren, Helen, Jessie, Harvey, Annie, Mary, Mildred Etta, George Edward, and Elizabeth Forrest.

Carrie's obituary was published in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer on Dec. 28, 1916 and appears courtesy of the wonderful folks at the Washington State Archives.

SPRINGSTON -- At 1715 Eighteenth Avenue, December 27, 1916, Carrie D. Springston, beloved mother of Miss Genevieve Springston and Mrs. Helene Major of 25 West Roy Street.

Funeral services will take place from Mount Pleasant Cemetery Chapel Friday and 2 p.m. All friends invited. Butterworth and Sons, morticians.
