Martha Harris, 81 of Blountsville passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at her home. She was born August 10, 1941, in Blount County, the daughter of Cecil Alexander and Ruthie Malone Alexander. She worked in the garment industry for 27 years and was a long-time member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was a sweet and loving person who taught Sunday School and was a second Mom to countless others in her community.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Ulyss Harris, their children; Rita Higgins, James Harris (Anne), and Darryl Harris (Annette); grandchildren; Summer Higgins, Ali Harris, Mikki Harris, Leah Harris, and Shannon Harris; siblings: Dorothy "Dot" Bailey and Glen Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents: Cecil and Ruthie Alexander; siblings: RC Alexander, George Franklin "Honey" Alexander, Robert "Cobb" Alexander, Betty Melvin and John Alexander

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Charles Brown and Brother Michael Brogdon officiating. The burial will be in Diamond Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Gober Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers: Lane Startley, Mike Alexander, Phillip Alexander, Larry Melvin, Jr, Mike Bailey and James Williams.
