Died In Marceline.
John K. Bowman, who left here about 40 years ago and has resided since in Marceline, died at his home there last Saturday morning. The remains were brought here Sunday and interred Monday morning in the A. O. U. W, cemetery. The funeral took place at the M. E Church being conducted by Rev. J. S. Howard. Mr. Bowman was born in Tennessee seventy one years ago. His wife who [sic] Miss Mary Etta Crawford, died about seven years ago. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Edwards, and Mrs. Disney, of Marceline.

OBITUARY.
John K. Bowman, was born Jan.21, 1835, in Green, Co. Tennessee. He moved to Macon Co., Mo. 1852. There be resided until about two years when he moved to Marceline, Mo.
In 1865 he was married to Mary Etta Crawford. To this union was born six children, two boys and four girls. The boys both died in infancy, two of the girls died in early womanhood six years ago. His wife preceded him to that better land in 1897. Those surviving him are his two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Disney and Mrs. Louisa Edwards, his four sisters and one brother.
He entered the army in 1863, served three years.
He was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church in 1870 and remained a faithful member until death Oct. 28, 1905.
He was a faithful husband, loving father, and a kind friend and comrade.
