Arthur Rex Boulware, Sr. of Lexington, SC, passed away peacefully in
the early morning hours of Sunday, January 29, 2023, in the arms of his
children and surrounded by his devoted family. Rex was born at home on
October 10, 1954 to the late Davis Earl Boulware and Julia Valerie Levister
Boulware.
Rex was an accomplished and talented guitarist, song writer, and
vocalist, with a musical passion that spanned over 50 years. His love for the
arts was shared by his musical family, starting with his father, and passed
down to his brothers and sisters alike. Rex began his life of performing and
sharing his talents as a teenager, alongside his brothers as members of bands
such as "The 25th Hour", "The Boulware Brothers Band," and several more.
His music touched many lives, as he shared his story through his songs.
In addition to his musical talent, Rex was a highly respected finish
carpenter, specializing in custom cabinetry. His quality of his work was
exhibited by his "perfectionist" perspective and his motto, "Measure twice,
cut ONCE." His sarcastic humor was well known by all who knew him.
Rex was sure to include a witty comment while teaching his trade, such as,
"Just mark it with the pencil, and we'll cut it with the saw". These are just a
few of the small things that we will all carry with us and smile.
For those blessed to know Rex during his time here on earth, his
charisma and charm will live on through the loving memories we share. He
will be loved and missed by all.
He is survived by his children, Alysia Boulware (Mike) Knuckles, Erica
Boulware Cavanagh, Arthur Rex Boulware, Jr, Anthony Ryan Boulware,
William Brian (Tammy) Jolly, and Amber Nicole Jolly; sisters, Martha Ree
(Steve) Keller, Stella Jeanette (Glenn) Locklair, and Joyce Ann (Brent)
Sawyer; one brother, George Steven (Marion) Boulware, Sr.; grandchildren,
Jessica Knuckles (Adam) Shaw, Michael Allen (Adrianne) Knuckles, Jr.,
Davis Alton (Amelia) Knuckles, Jordan Makayla Cavanagh, Kamdyn
Bailey Adams, Abigail Paige Boulware, Aaliyah Marie Boulware, Ayden
Ryan Boulware, Lyla Dawn Boulware, Atlas Reece Boulware, William
Logan Jolly, Seamus Desmond Jolly, Lachlan Sullivan Jolly, and Aeryn
Louise Jolly; great-grandchildren, Addison Marie Shaw, Caden Michael
Shaw, Jackson Connor Shaw, Kara Leah Knuckles, and Vinnie Ruth
