Maryville
Bonnie Mae Abbott Boring Anderson, age 94 of Maryville, TN passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at CloverHill Senior Living.
From Cades Cove to CloverHill, 94 years and 2 days…what a life! Bonnie, "Grandma Bon" loved us, prayed for us, cared for us, lectured us and was honest even when we didn't want to hear it. She lived a complex life that can't be captured in the few lines of an obituary. All we can say is what people who met her came to understand as "that's Bonnie!" We all hope to find answers to questions that escape us in this world and for those that knew her, we hope to one day understand what "that's Bonnie" really means!
Bonnie was preceded by her husband and first love, Raymond Boring; her second husband, Fred Anderson; son, Roy Boring; parents, Elmer and Ella Abbott; siblings, Clinton, Edna, Willard, June, Nedja Abbott.
Survivors include daughters, Lynnette McCall (Bob), LaRue Bird (Allen); son, Troy Boring; grandchildren Meredith Alexander (Chris), Jeff Bird (Kristy), Tracy Jackson (Matt), Leah Smith (Mark). She will also be lovingly remembered by her 8 great-grandchildren, Brooks and Braden Bird, Katlyn and Matthew Jackson, Amelia and Landry Alexander, Raymond and Liam Smith; Little Sis, Jewel Dodson.
Special love and thanks to the "angels" who "survived" her last years at CloverHill Senior Living (you know who you are); Gentiva Hospice Group; special friend, Lori Zepeda.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to Gideon's International, The Gideons International Processing Center P.O. Box 97251 Washington, DC 20090-7251 or East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital Development Department P.O. Box 15010 Knoxville, TN 37901-5010.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM with a funeral service to follow officiated by Dr. Chris Alexander. A graveside service will take place at 3:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery.
