Rush Quinn Neal (Papo) passed peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born January 9, 1940, in Palestine, Texas, to W.C. and Lela Mae Neal. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1958, served in the Vietnam War and in many capacities within the Army. His last assignment was at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. After 22 years he retired as a Command Sergeant Major. He then went on to work for the Postal Service for many years.
As many know, he was a very kind, patient and committed man who loved his family and traveling the country in an RV. Rush was deeply loved by family and his friends. He was admired and will be remembered with an abundance of love.
He was preceded in death by his father, W.C. Neal, mother Lela Mae Neal, older brother W.J. (Dub) Neal and sister Donna Garrett. He is survived by his wife of 62 years and their family.
A visitation service will take place on Wednesday, June 07, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
