Nicholas S. Cicak Sr.
1953 - 2023

Nicholas S. Cicak, Sr., age 69, of Dover passed away on May 19, 2023 peacefully and surrounded by family. Nick Sr., who courageously battled kidney cancer, was born in New York, NY and resided in Dover for 66 years.

Nick Sr., the son of Nick and Anna (Slampyak) Cicak (deceased). He attended Dover High School and County College of Morris. In 1980, Nick Sr. was united in marriage to Linda (Verdi) Cicak. He and Linda began their family thereafter welcoming both Nick Jr. and Jennifer to their family.

He was employed and later retired as an Equipment Operator for the Town of Dover. After retirement, he enjoyed his part-time role at the Shop Rite of Wharton. As a lifelong sports enthusiast, Nick Sr. was a diehard Browns and Yankee fan. He was also a proud football and baseball coach to his son. Nick Sr. could be seen on the sidelines of his son and daughter's sporting events and, as of late, his granddaughter's. He began umpiring at the age of 14 years old sharing his love of baseball with everyone he met. He was a District 1 Umpire and had the honor of umpiring a World Series Regional Game. In 2001, he was inducted into the Dover Area Little League Hall of Fame. Early on and over the years, he enjoyed golfing with family, hunting with in-laws, and bowling. He was inducted into the Morris County Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1999 for Meritorious Service. In his retirement, Nick Sr. held the auspicious title of chief battery replacement officer (CBRO) for the toys of his two young grandsons. Overall, he most enjoyed spending time with his family.

Nick Sr. is survived by his loving family: beloved wife Linda of 42 years; children Nick Jr. (Monica) Jennifer Eastridge (Ryan); grandchildren Rue, Benjamin, Lucas, and two angel babies; siblings George Cicak (Liz), Catherine Foley (Rob), and Stephanie Davanzo (Larry); brother-in-law Aldo Verdi (Kris), and sister-in-law Denise Ridner (Eddie); Aunt Anne Colombo (Joseph) as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, two grandnieces and another due October 2023.

Visitation from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Tuttle Funeral Home, 272 Highway 10, Randolph, NJ 07869 (Tuttlefh.com).

A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, 4 Richards Avenue, Dover, NJ 07801.

Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery, Academy Street, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
