OBITUARY:

John Ashley, a farmer living near Folsomville, died at his home yesterday at the age of 92, being the oldest man in the county at the time of his death. Mr. Ashley was always strong and healthy and until a few weeks ago took daily walks for exercise. he was a lifelong Democrat, never voted any other ticket and prided himself of this fact. In order to show his activity and loyalty for William Jennings Bryan he walked fifteen miles, the distance between his home and Boonville, to meet Bryan and shake hands with him while he was campaigning in behalf of Alton B. Parker. Mr. Ashley was then 87 years old. The funeral will take place tomorrow at the residence. Burial at the Ashley cemetery - Wednesday's Courier Feb 1910.
