Eston Duane Querry

Eston Duane Querry, 55, a former resident of Huntingdon, who resided in Camp May Courthouse, N.J., died early yesterday morning at home. He had been in failing health for the past few years.

Born Sept. 23, 1923, in Cassville, he was the son of Eston Clark and Celia Oretta (Taylor) Querry.

He was united in marriage to D. Jane Grose on Dec. 6, 1946, in Tyrone.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Scott (Cindy L.) Yocum, Fort Meade, Md.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. W. Ridley (Trudy) Banks III, Johnstown, and a foster son, Dennis L. Lloyd, Cape May, N.J. Five grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Querry was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by his sister.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

He was a life member and past commander of VFW Standing Stone Post No. 1754, Huntingdon; a member of American Legion Frank P. Hommon Post No. 24, Huntingdon, and had been a member of the Huntingdon Lions' Club.

For 20 years he had been employed in the retail store of the E.B. Endres Lumber Co., Huntingdon, and for a period of time owned and operated the LaVita Motel, Wildwood Crest, N.J.

Educated in Huntingdon public schools, he graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1941.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Paul H. Kleffel officiating. Interment will be made in the Cassville Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until the hour of the service.
