Hattie Elizabeth Cofiell, 89, longtime resident of Cockeysville, Maryland, passed from this life to life eternal on May 18, 2023. She was born on October 7, 1933 to Roy Francis Barwick and Pearl Delta Mink Barwick. Hattie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Robert W. Cofiell; siblings Ruth Copenhaver, Roy Barwick, Ralph Barwick, and Harold Barwick; and son-in-law, Richard Howington. She is survived by her daughters, Robin E. Bush (husband Gary), and Rev. Terri Cofiell; and her grandchildren, Leah Bush and Jacob Bush.
Hattie was loved for her sweet nature by all who knew her. She was a member of Frames Memorial United Methodist Church for many years, and was very active with church projects and the Cockeysville Food Pantry. For the last several years, she was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where her daughter is the pastor. Though Hattie enjoyed traveling with her husband and tending her garden and ponds, the most precious things to her remained Jesus, her family, and her friends and neighbors.
The family will receive visitors at Epworth United Methodist Church, 600 Warren Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030 on May 22, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Her memorial service will begin at 11:00 am led by Dr. Bill Brown. Interment to follow at Jessops Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Hattie's memory may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital and Epworth United Methodist Church.
