Sarah Dollie Kirkland Register, 89, was the daughter of John Stevenson and Nova Irene Garrett Kirkland. She was born north of Macclenny at the home of her maternal grandparents, George Washington and Sarah Caroline Thrift Garrett on March 18, 1934. The property belonged to her parents but once belonged to her paternal grandmother, Dollie Estelle Carroll Kirkland Johnson and step-grandfather George Ealie Johnson. Dollie was very proud to have been named after both of her grandmothers.

Dollie was married to George Emory Register of Dupont, GA, the two met when both were employed in Jacksonville at King Edward Cigar Factory where George worked for thirty eight years. Together they had five wonderful children along with fourteen beautiful grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

Dollie and George lived in Glen St. Mary for thirty years and had made gardening their hobby , growing all kinds of vegetables and fruits. Dollie was an excellent seamstress and her talent was always on demand by Baker Countians. They were members of [the] Advent Christian Church, retired there in 1996, where they served in numerous ways at The Advent Christian Village during their twenty-five years there.

Mrs. Register is survived by her daughter: Maxine Pam Raulerson (Raymond), two sons: Duane Register (Pam), Tony Register (Julie) ; brother: Windell Kirkland (Margaret); two daughter-in-laws: Nancy Sands, Debra Register; fourteen grandchildren; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: George E. Register; her sons: Maxie Sands, Steve Register; her parents: Steve and Nova Kirkland and her brothers: Fred Kirkland and Joe Kirkland.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 20th at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. Frank Hall officiating. There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Advent Christian Village Bixler Memorial Church.
