John Lawrence Allsbrook, III age 69, of Scotland Neck, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square.
He was born on July 30, 1952 to John and Beatrice "Buck" Allsbrook. Johnny loved spending vacations at his family's home in Kill Devil Hills. In his younger years, Johnny enjoyed traveling with his dad and cousins to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and the horse races. Johnny spent most of his working years as a theater manager and owner of The Earl Theater in Ahoskie. He was a member of the Junior Order in Scotland Neck, where he was past State Councilor and National Representative. He was affectionately known as "Johnny Cakes" to his nieces and nephews. Everyone that knew Johnny would agree that he was a unique individual.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hughes Allsbrook; his mother, Beatrice "Buck" Shearin Allsbrook; his father, John Lawrence Allsbrook, Jr.; and his sister, Betsy Allsbrook Joyner.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel, with Rev. Dusty Sprouse officiating.
