Christopher G. Burquez, born a Bay Area native to Edward and Alicia (Grijalva) Burquez has completed his walk on Mother Earth and has forever flown to our Great Creator on July 3, 2022. Chris grew up Mexican American and through his love of genealogy he learned that he was a product of Native and indigenous people. He started his career as a water treatment plant operator in Napa. With continued education, Chris gained more knowledge and certifications to move up to one of the most loved Superintendents at EBMUD's largest water treatment plant in Orinda, CA. He also worked as an independent photographer for Native News online. Chris started to attend pow wows to learn of his family ancestry and embrace the culture and spirituality it brought to his life. He started to photograph his fellow Native People, the beautiful sunrises, scenery, and sunsets, and ceremonies. Chris was invited to attend and participated in joining The Sacred Circle. It's an honor for Chris and now for our family to follow our ancestors' cultural beliefs. Our family is grateful for all the research of the old archives, genealogy, DNA studies that Chris performed of old records.
