Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday in Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington.
Ella was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Somerville to John and Mary Gray. "Mamaw," as friends and family affectionately called her, had the wonderful gift of caring. She worked for many years in several mother's-day-out church programs throughout the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area until her retirement at age 80. She will surely be welcomed into the "day care center of heaven." Always the life of any gathering, she loved to tell stories about growing up with her four sisters down on the Yegua River. A strong role model and loving friend to many, she loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was always the happiest when the house was filled with family and friends during the holidays or any time of year just because it was where they wanted to be. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred J.; one son, Alfred L.; and sisters, Stella, Bessie, Thelma and Mary.
Survivors: Son, Bill and wife, Elizabeth, of Euless; son, John and wife, Peggy, of Caldwell; son, Jack and wife, Diane, of Bedford; daughter, Barbara of San Antonio; son, Frank and wife, Teresa, of Bedford; son, Robert and wife, Laura, of Fort Worth; and many more extended family and friends.
