Ethel Lee (Swallow) Black, age 94, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away May 16, 2023, in Highland Village, Texas. Ethel was born on October 15,1928 on the family farm in Beaver County, Oklahoma, to Clinton and Ora (Spore) Swallow. She was raised on the family farm and worked alongside her father on the farm during the depression and World War II. On August 9, 1947, she married Fred H. Black, and they celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2005. Three children were born to this union, Linda, Ted and Jolita. Fred and Ethel lived on the farm near Logan, OK until they moved to Woodward, OK in 1995.

Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred; son Ted Black; daughter-in-Law Susan Devore Black Henricks, granddaughter Jesseca Black Sage, son-in-law Gary Truitt, sisters Esther Moore, Elsie Armstrong and Elnora Martin and brother Leonard Swallow.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Truitt and Jolita Bisio (Jim); grandson Michael Truitt; grandson-in-law Rick Sage; great-granddaughter Kayla Sage and a great-grandson on the way, and many other family members and friends.

A graveside service will take place at 1pm, Friday, May 19, 2023, at Laverne Memorial Cemetery, in Laverne, Oklahoma.
